Why nothing is uploaded
Every operation on this page is done by code running inside your browser tab, using the same engine that renders web pages. The file is read from disk into your tab’s memory, transformed there, and written back out as a download. It is never sent anywhere — not to us, not to a third party.
Verify it yourself
- Open your browser’s developer tools (F12) and select the Network tab.
- Load your file and run the tool.
- The only requests you will see fetch the tool’s own code — and, for a few heavy tools, their open-source engine from a public CDN — plus one small page-view ping to loreatec.jp (page address and title, nothing more). None of them carry your file.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the rates come from and how current are they?
From open.er-api.com, a public API that publishes daily reference rates compiled from central-bank and market sources. They update once a day; the date shown is the rate’s date. This is not a live market feed and is not meant for trading.
Why is my bank’s rate different?
Banks and card networks add a spread to the reference rate — typically 1–3 %, sometimes more for cash. Use this for estimates and quotes; the settlement rate is whatever your bank applies on the day.
Does it work offline?
After the first use, yes: the last rates fetched are stored in this browser and reused, with their date shown in orange so nobody mistakes them for today’s. Press “Refresh rates” when you are back online.
What is sent, and to whom?
The three-letter code of the base currency, to open.er-api.com, from your browser. Not the amount, not the pair. Nothing goes through this site’s server.
